IFMA Eliminations 18/07/09

Lyndon Knowles and Sam Wilson represented the Minotaur Gym yesterday at the IFMA Amateur Eliminations, Cambridge. Sam Wilson was first up. The 1st round saw Sam’s boxing opening up and connecting with solid and good technique causing his opponents eye to swell up and at the end of the 2nd round his opponent failed to come out for the 3rd round. Lyndon Knowles  suffered issues with getting started due to issues with the amateur equipment supplied by the event not being large enough for the weight category. After some modifications with tape, the bout got underway. Lyndon mixed up his boxing skills with awesome grappling technique and low kicks to keep banging away at his opponents right leg. He continued this approach over the 4 x 2 minute rounds eventually winning unanimously on points.
